“The more you leave out, the more you highlight what you leave in.”
― Henry Green
I'm sure many of you have had an experience like I do when playing the Pick 3. "Just Missed it by one!"
It happens time and time again and continues to happen. In this article, we are going to address what I call "The First Five" and hopefully be able to come closer to solving that problem of "Just Missed".
We all have our ways of processing these numbers for the next potential big win with the pick 3. Each style is different and each approach unique. Like mine for example, there's no doubt by now if you have been following along that you've seen me post the "Raw Numbers" in the state threads. But I want to focus on the obvious of those Raw Numbers, and that is - "The First Five".
Let's take an example of the First Five Raw Numbers for the state of Connecticut for 9/18.
CT Day: 621 || 064 Nite |
||||
557 | 400 | 034 | 114 | 039 |
If we look at the table above, we can see the First Five numbers within the raw list that I post. For the moring of 9/18, this is what the beginning of the raw numbers looked like. I've also included within the table, the day number and night number drawn for 9/18, so that as we advance through this article, you will be able to easily see the subtle hints these numbers leaves for us.
If we look at the day draw, 621, and then scan our eyes over the raw numbers, nothing seems to stick out at us.
But, if we look at the night draw, 064 and scan our eyes over the raw numbers, our brain begins to tell us there is some resemblances there. Let's see if we can decipher what our brain is telling us. Remember I said that it was always like we were off by "just one"! Well, what happens when we take that and apply that concept to our raw number? Can we achieve a hit? Let's find out!
CT Day: 621 || 064 Nite |
||||
557 457 547 556 |
400 300 410 401 |
034 134 024 033 |
114 014 104 113 |
039 |
In this table, I simply have taken the raw number, and then subtracted one from each digit. So in the first column, we have 557. If we were to minus 1 from the first number of that three digit number, we would have 457.
Then, we do the same thing to the second placement of the raw number. 5(5-1=4)7 = 547. And then finally, we do the same thing with the last placement of the raw number. 55(7-1=6) = 556.
Now, if we did that all the way across the board, we start to see something appear. There seems to be a "repeat" number. That first repeat is 410, as we scan the list left to right. Then comes 401, then 014 and finally there's the 104.
CT Day: 621 || 064 Nite |
||||
557 457 547 556 |
400 300 410 401 |
034 134 024 033 |
114 014 104 113 |
039 139 029 038 |
Now, if we look at our night number again, we do see some of resemblance to the number drawn. That number that looks closely like 064, is 014. This is where it's vital to understand and use the mirror numbers when looking at something like this. If we keep in mind that a "1" is the mirror number to "6", meaning our 014, becomes 064, we can see it's a direct hit to the night number of Connecticut for 9/18. And, if you're read my other articles or even read some of my comments in the state threads, you have seen me mention "drifters".
The day draw was 621, and that meant, a "6 or 1" and/or a "2/7" would drift from the day draw to the night. In this case, we saw that, as the "6" was the drifter and carried over into 064 for the evening draw. So using that technique will help you, as you scan the list for potential picks to play. Always remember the mirrors! I can not put enough emphasis on that.
Now, you may be thinking, "Ah, this was just a fluke!" Was it though? Let's look at Connecticut for 9/19.
Because of the way the Raw Numbers work, there are now two new numbers at the start of the list, that were generated from 9/18's draws. The updated list for 9/19 is in the table below.
CT Day: 056 || 369 Nite |
||||
313 213 303 312 |
008 108 018 007 |
557 457 547 556 |
400 300 410 401 |
034 134 024 033 |
Again, I have taken the liberty to apply the same technique of the minus one to each placement of the Raw Numbers and created the chart above. Now that you've been exposed to the subtle hints, do you see it? Our day draw for 9/19 was 056. There is a number within the list that closely resembles that, and that is 556. Well, again, keeping in mind the mirror numbers, "5" is the mirror to "0". So if that's the case, then our 556, can become 056, which was our day draw as a straight hit.
What about our night number, is there anything that matches up there? Well, as previously mentioned, we are going to look for a drifter, which would be a 5/0 and or a 6/1 which would drift from the day draw. So as we scan through our list, we are looking for numbers that we can use with a 5/0 or a 6/1. Again, this is where it's vitally important to understand the mirroring system so that you really understand what you are looking at.
The night draw was 369. If we look at the basics of mirroring that number we can produce 369 (814). Now, that should become a little more obvious as to what we are trailing. There is a number that is re-arranged, but it does resemble the 814. That's the 134. Well, if we were to mirror the 134, we are left with 639. And yep, it's a boxed hit for 9/19 in Connecticut.
BONUS content:
If we look at the complete list of my Raw Numbers for Connecticut posted on the 18th, we see:
Remember that "814" I mentioned in the previous paragraph? Look at the list below:
034, 114, 039, 291, 356, 278, 094, 522, 383, 451, 118, 643, 184, 446, 123, 326, 178, 094, 286, 030, 316, 367, 311, 686, 005, 222, 111, 161, 111, 661, 838
By using the "First Five" you can narrow down some picks, and then you can use the rest of the Raw Numbers List to verify your pick. Once you think you've got it, the rest is up to you, and that is check your workouts, wheels, other systems or just play all versions of the number to make sure you hit it.
Sounds crazy - right? Again, a fluke? Naw, let me show you some more examples and just how much this works.

This happens on a regular basis and the "First Five" can be a technique you can use to get your big win.
A suggestion for this technique would be to write these charts out on a piece of paper. Then as each draw happens, put the numbers in the places like I have them. Then with a highlighter, go and mark the exacts, boxed or mirrored versions of the draw numbers if they exist. This will do two thing for you.
First, it will train your brain to help you understand better what you are looking at. And you will be able to see the a pattern emerge for your state as you are tracking them.
Second, you will be able to see which "column" your hits are coming from the most. Remember, there are 5 raw numbers, so there are 5 columns of numbers. Generally what you will see is that those hits will show you a pattern of where they fall. You can use this to your advantage when making your selection.
By the way, you can backtrack and use this technique to get up to speed with the current draws. Go start a week back and do this, highlighting as you go along. Then you should be able to see a pattern and what column your hits are coming from.
As Henry Green said:
“The more you leave out, the more you highlight what you leave in.”
Pay attention to what you are looking at. See the subtle hints the Raw Numbers are leaving you. Starting next Sunday, I'm going to be showing you in the state threads just how much you may be missing with the Raw Numbers, and how obvious they are to you.
If you've made it this far, you've found another piece of the puzzle. Hopefully you can use this to your advantage, and produce some picks that win big for you.
